Official Events
Your way into the eternal trophy table
Official events in the DR!FTCLUB create a binding format for the DR!FT competition across all performance classes.
Requirements
Any organizer can apply to host an official event at DR!FTCLUB via service@driftclub.com. The event format and rules are generally left up to the organizer, except for the minimum requirements listed here. In consultation with DR!FTCLUB, deviations from the requirements and rules for official events listed here are possible.
- A minimum of 8 participants is recommended (minimum 6 participants)
- Virtual DR!FTCLUB trophies will be awarded
- Every DR!FTCLUB member can participate
- Only a maximum of two official events per group/year
- For team events, the number of teams applies instead of the number of individual participants
Why official events?
Official events introduce binding performance classes. Within each class, official trophies are awarded according to a fixed scheme, which are recorded in the official trophy table. This standardization finally makes fair, cross-event comparison a reality for DR!FT.
Trophies awarded in community events are not included in the trophy table, as they are not checked and not standardized - but community events offer more spontaneous, non-binding and individual design options.
Those who want to become part of the official DR!FT competition will find a structured, motivating system in the official events - open to all driver levels, from newcomer to experienced pro.
Performance classes and groups
Official events introduce three performance classes, which roughly describe a rider's riding ability. This means that official events offer riders of all ability levels the opportunity to celebrate success in their own performance class.
- Elite class:
highest-performing drivers
- Pro class:
good to very good drivers
- Sport class:
beginners to occasional drivers
The Elite and Pro classes must have at least 6 drivers each. Sport class(es) must have at least 4 riders. Which riders compete in which performance class is determined individually for each event by a freely definable classification procedure based on riding ability. A classification procedure can be, for example, a qualifying round.
Once the classification procedure has been completed, the riders are divided into groups. Each group is assigned to a performance class, with a maximum of one group each from the Elite and Pro classes allowed in the entire event. The exact name of a group is up to each organizer. For simplicity's sake, it is recommended that the groups be named according to their performance classes.
⚠️ Depending on the field of participants, the organizer and DR!FTCLUB will decide individually which performance classes (Elite/Pro/Sport) will be raced. However, Elite and Pro classes should only be offered if the field of riders allows it in good conscience based on the expected performance spectrum.
Trophies
In DR!FTCLUB, various virtual trophies can be purchased for a nominal fee and awarded in events. For each performance class, there are corresponding trophies in the DR!FTCLUB shop, which are offered in at least gold, silver, and bronze so that a corresponding trophy can be awarded for the first three places in each performance class.
At official events, exactly one complete set of trophies (gold/silver/bronze = 1st to 3rd place) must be awarded for each performance class advertised. The trophies are awarded either on the basis of the overall ranking over several sessions or – in the case of events with only one ranking unit (e.g., 24-hour races) – directly for this single session.
A driver/team can only win a maximum of one trophy per event. This ensures that the number of trophies in the trophy table corresponds to the number of successful event participations. A maximum of one set of Elite and Pro class trophies and any number of sets of Sport class trophies may be awarded per event.
Vehicles
Unless an organizer defines different rules for an official event, the following provisions apply:
As a general rule, any modification or optimization that has the goal or effect of providing a competitive advantage is not permitted.
DR!FT is a computer game and the vehicles are merely the output medium. Tuning is done in the DR!FT app and not on the vehicle. Product variations within the original vehicles are normal and accepted.
The following purely visual modifications to original vehicles are permitted:
- Custom paintwork and decals
- Custom rims
- Custom body kits
If a violation is detected during or after the event, this may result in the disqualification of all sessions in which this vehicle was used.
Trophy table
The trophy table is based exclusively on trophies awarded at official events. It is divided accordingly into the three known performance classes: Elite Class, Pro Class and Sport Class. Within each performance class there are the classic awards in gold, silver and bronze - a total of nine columns.
The presentation is in order of value from left to right: the trophies of the Elite class are on the left, followed by the trophies of the Pro class and finally the trophies of the Sport class on the far right. The following applies: A trophy in the Elite class is always valued higher than any trophy in a lower performance class.
For example, a bronze trophy in the Elite class carries more weight than ten gold trophies in the Pro class.
The trophy table can be filtered by year and all-time. In addition, you can filter the trophy overview so that only one performance class is taken into account.
In contrast to official events, community events are not included in the trophy overview.
